Audition dates: November 21, 22, 23 – 2019

The audition will be held close to Arlanda airport / Stockholm.

 

The Swedish Opera Festival – Opera på Skäret – welcomes professional singers to audition for our 17:th season and our first production of Turandot by Giacomo Puccini. The production will be staged at the main stage in the summer of 2020.

We give 12 performances of Turandot in total with two equal A-casts in the main roles singing 6 performances each. The production will be sung in Italian and the ending will be Franco Alfanos.

Rehearsals starts June 22 at Opera på Skäret.

We rehearse Monday-Saturday each week until the premiere 1:st and 2:nd of August.

August 2020

1,2,8,9,13,15,16,20,22,23,29,30

All artists must be available the whole period of rehearsals and must be present in Kopparberg at all dates of performances in case of sudden illness in the other cast.

About the audition:

The jury expects all singers to present the whole role if asked for. For the roles of Mandarine, Ping, Pang, Pong, Timur, Emperor we expect you to sing music from the role plus operatic repertoire in Italian.

We provide with pianist and there will be rooms for a shorter warm up session. Each singer is scheduled to get 10 minutes at the most. Bring your sheet music for the pianist.
