This is the second year I have the privilege of working in the extraordinary venue at Opera p\u00e5 Sk\u00e4ret. The space is truly one of a kind: an enormous space with soaring ceilings, where light can fully come into its own. As a lighting designer, it offers me the freedom to push creative boundaries. For this year\u2019s Turandot<\/em>, the set designer Sven \u00d6stberg has created an evocative scenography \u2013 a cage within another cage. It is a concept that gives me exciting opportunities to work with light and shadow, while also presenting a unique challenge: how do we ensure the singers remain visible through the bars <\/p>\n Turandot<\/em> holds special meaning for me. It was one of the first operas I worked on as a lighting technician at Folwkoperan in Stockholm, about 30 years ago.
