Mezzo-soprano Sofie Westerberg plays the role of one of the handmaidens and also the role of temptress in Puccini’s Turandot. This autumn, she will begin her bachelor’s studies at Stockholm University of the Arts, after two years of training at Stockholm Opera Studio. There, she has performed roles such as Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro and the title role in Handel’s Silla. In the summer of 2024, she also appeared in Opera på Skäret’s production of Bellini’s Norma.

“My first summer at Skäret was incredibly transformative for me as a singer. I learned a tremendous amount – both about vocal technique and stagecraft – and met amazing people. Coming back this year feels absolutely right. The chance to sing as a soloist on such a unique stage is a dream.”
