With the following motivation:
“In the heart of Bergslagen, a former sawmill site has become an international stage for world-class opera. Here, unforgettable experiences are created that attract thousands of visitors, inspire local pride, and demonstrate how culture can drive rural development and put a place on the world map.”
The winner is selected by representatives of the public tourism organizations in the region’s twelve municipalities, together with Region Örebro County and the County Administrative Board, based on nominations from local residents and businesses.
We are incredibly proud and delighted to receive this award – a testament to what dedication, collaboration, and a shared love of opera can achieve in Bergslagen.
In December, Opera på Skäret will go on to represent Örebro County in the national final of the Grand Tourism Award 2025.
