preservation fund

In the coming years, our historic buildings will face significant maintenance needs. We need to replace roofs, renovate and replace windows and interiors, improve dressing rooms, and ensure better mobile coverage, among many other tasks. To finance these essential measures, we invite all our friends, our audience, and opera lovers from near and far to contribute to this fund, which we call Opera på Skäret’s Preservation Fund.

There is rarely any money left for the development of the opera facilities once the performance costs are covered. All funds raised for the preservation fund will be exclusively used for the maintenance and development of Opera på Skäret’s facilities through the Ljusnarsberg Cultural Center Foundation, which manages the operations. Every donation, regardless of size, makes a difference. We estimate the costs for upcoming maintenance work to be around 500,000 SEK per year over the next decade.

Opera på Skäret is financed 20% through contributions from Region Örebro, the Swedish Arts Council, Örebro Municipality, and Ljusnarsberg Municipality. Approximately 10% comes from private sponsors, while the remaining 70% is financed through ticket sales.
