South Korean tenor Hwapyeong Gwon has studied with Anton Scharinger at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He has performed in Korea, the USA, Canada, Austria, Serbia, Montenegro, and Bulgaria, singing roles in Die Fledermaus, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, and Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor. He also portrayed Hamlet in the premiere of the Korean opera by Hyerin Kong. Upcoming projects include Nemorino, Tebaldo, and Don José in La Tragédie de Carmen at Luzerner Theater, Switzerland.
