In the summer of 2024, Opera på Skäret will present Vincenzo Bellini’s moving opera Norma. This will be the first time Opera på Skäret presents a work by Bellini.
The opera will be performed 12 times by two alternating groups of singers. The groups of singers will be determined following auditions to be arranged in November. The production team will be presented later in the autumn.
Vincenzo Bellini wrote the opera Norma together with librettist Felice Romani. The model was the French poet Alexandre Soumet’s tragedy Norma, ou l´infanticide.
Norma premiered in 1831 at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and has been part of the repertoires of the major opera houses ever since.
Ticket sales commence on October 11.
